Industrial Relations Laws enacted by the Newman government have been described as “WorkChoices for Queensland”. The laws strip back Awards, contain significant attacks on public sector and local government employees and allow the employer to take away the right to protected industrial action.
The changes will have an adverse impact upon the lives of many many Queenslanders.
The Cloudland Collective is hosting a public meeting to facilitate discussion on the IR changes and how they can be fought. Special guest speakers, Associate Professor Janis Bailey and Dan Goldman, and industrial advocate for Together Queensland, will benefit the meeting with their understanding of the changes and the impact upon Queensland workers.
