| Dear supporters of Palestine, Keep talking about Gaza. The Israeli Apartheid State and its supports are attempting to remove the genocide in Gaza from public consciousness. After murdering hundreds of Journalists they are hoping the world will forget about the murder, starvation and deprivation enacted on the men woman and children in Gaza. They are also attempting to silence the anti-genocide forces outside of Palestine. Join us! To keep raising your voice for Justice in Palestine and keep resisting the silencing. And remember to support our legal defense fund against the QLD government’s ridiculous laws designed to try and silence us HERE. We are stronger together. Join us. |

Mass Disobedience to test Police ignoring ‘proscribed phrase’ violations
Justice for Palestine Magandjin will be supporting mass civil disobedience on Sunday June 14 as dozens of Queenslanders risk 2 years in jail testing whether the LNP and Queensland Police still enforce ‘proscribed phrase’ violations.
The River To The Sea Fun Run on June 6 saw 8 Queenslanders blatantly violate prescribed phrase laws in front of Queensland Police. With another public violation in front of police HQ going unpunished, Justice For Palestine is calling on the LNP to repeal the laws and drop the charges faced by 24 Queenslanders.
Justice for Palestine Magandjin spokesperson Remah Naji said:
“Either the LNP has directed Queensland Police to ignore the law or the police don’t think these laws will stand up against our High Court challenge.
We will not allow the LNP to outlaw political freedoms when Palestinians are being starved, exterminated, and ethnically cleansed. For as long as there is genocide, apartheid, and occupation, we will continue to pressure State and Federal governments to end political and material support for apartheid Israel.
Everyone deserves the right to speak out for Palestine. Freedom of speech is fundamental to a free and open society.”
On May 15, 73yo Jewish psychologist Stephen Heydt wore his home-made t-shirt with the banned phrase “Globalise the Intifada” on the steps of the Queensland Police Headquarters. He then said the phrase at the protest as police walked in and out and security looked on. He was not arrested, despite being dragged off in the back of a paddy wagon for the same acts a month earlier.
On June 6 over 150 Queenslanders ran, jogged, power walked and danced from Reddacliff place to South Bank beach dressed in ‘Kath and Kim’ themed tracksuits, their running bibs stating “from the ____ to the ____”. Eight participants choose to use the banned phrase in front of police and media. No one was arrested.
This Sunday at 1pm, the Justice for Palestine Magandjin rally puts “Six Words for a Free Palestine” to the test — will they arrest people for saying them? Justice for Palestine Magandjin will be holding a press conference before the rally with spokesperson Remah Naji and people who have and will continue to speak out for Palestine.
Press conference: Sunday June 14, 12:30pm King George Square
