After bad weather forced us to cancel our May Foco Nuevo, we’re really pleased to reschedule the Combined Unions Choir for our June Foco Nuevo, along with Rebecca Wright, joining Jumping Fences (in duo format!). Put it in your calendar, and join us for a great night of live music under the stars in our intimate backyard concert.
Remember seating is limited; booking is essential.
Savouries, cakes, tea, and coffee will be available. Please feel free to BYO if you wish.
We would love to see you at our place.

COMBINED UNIONS CHOIR
Brisbane Combined Unions Choir are passionate about singing to inform and entertain about issues important to working people and the broader community.
The Choir sings workers’ songs of solidarity, safety, history and workplace conditions. They also sing about peace, the environment, women’s rights, First Nations issues and social justice.

They sing a cappella and select songs from the folk tradition, Australian popular music, African and South American songs. The Choir is unique amongst Community Choirs for the number of songs they have composed, often with an enormous amount of help from musical collaborators like Sue and Lachlan.
They are a community choir open without audition to all who believe in social justice and union values.
REBECCA WRIGHT
Since bursting on to the Brisbane folk scene over twenty-five years ago as a solo singer-songwriter at the age of sixteen, Rebecca has gone on to tour overseas as a cellosinger, release various albums with a variety of bands, marry a bonny Scotsman, and become a mum. After spending the past decade performing mostly with others, she is currently enjoying her occasional return to the stage as a solo artist; sharing meaningful songs for the love of it.
JUMPING FENCES
Jumping Fences’ songs traverse working lives, migration and exile, and everyday hopes and joys. Their long association with Latin American music resonates deeply in their own compositions. They toured to Cuba in 2017 and 2018, and nationally, they have performed at numerous festivals. Listen to their music on Bandcamp and other streaming platforms.
