Once again the overwhelming majority of nations in the General Assembly of the UN have voted in favour of the motion calling for a lifting of the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States on Cuba. The results: 165 in favour, 7 against and 12 abstentions.

CLOSING CELEBRATION & PICNIC THIS SUNDAY 9th NOVEMBER, 3pm,
HEATH PARK, 48 Hilton Street, EAST BRISBANE
Please bring a plate to share
If you are in Brisbane this coming Sunday, 9th November, we hope you will come and celebrate our collective achievements and meet our wonderful campaign ambassador and guest speaker Susie Maroney.
Here we are in the last week of the campaign. A huge thanks to those of you who have been fundraising and adding your kms to your Dashboard over the last few days. With less than 500 kms to go, our target is in sight, to complete the distance between Canberra and Havana of 14,886 kms. A special mention and very warm welcome to those of you who have recently joined the campaign, taking the number of people who have registered this year to 49.

Team Coffee Cubes team out about last Sunday on their regular Aus2Cuba ride. An amazing effort!
You may be aware that last Friday, October 31st, while the United Nations General Assembly again voted overwhelmingly to end the US blockade of Cuba, Hurricane Melissa caused devastation across the Caribbean. In Cuba, the damage comes on top of existing epidemics and sanitation challenges. The funds we are raising through our campaign will help provide critical support to everyday Cubans, and we have currently raised almost $4000 to be used to purchase urgent medical supplies. In light of the heavy blow caused by the hurricane, it would be wonderful if we could make an extra push in this final week of the campaign. Perhaps we could even reach $5000. Donations can be added to your Dashboard on the website .
We hope to see you on Sunday afternoon, please also write to your donors and invite them to join us. We would be grateful if you could bring a plate to share. Thank you to Women’s House for providing us with a wonderful space to gather.
Finally, some participants are yet to add activity details to their dashboard site. If you are having any difficulties with this, please send me your total kms and I will forward them to the Mycause admin team.
Best wishes
