    Marg Reid, retired archivist will lead us in a Q&A workshop to help us consider the importance of archiving, particularly for retired and current unionists. If you have been thinking about organising, donating,  or even culling some of your treasured records or mementos, this Q&A will be a good start. More details.

  5. BRIDGING NOW TO NEXT – National Reconciliation Week 27 May – 3 June 2025.
    First Nations Candlelight Vigil – 2025. 5:00pm 1st June, Adelaide Street Entrance, King George Square, Brisbane.

  6. Silent Protest –  State Library of Queensland, 2-4pm Saturday 31 May 2025.
    Last week the LNP Government directed the State Library of Queensland to rescind First Nation writer K A Ren Wyld’s literary award. If you are concerned by the escalating political intervention in awards and fellowships for artists who have spoken out against the ongoing genocide in Gaza, you are invited to join with readers, writers and activists in a silent protest outside the State Library of Queensland in the Knowledge Walk (near the bookshop), 2-4pm, Saturday 31st May. 
    Please bring signs supporting SLQ’s Black & Write! Writing Fellowship, solidarity with REN signs, and/or Free Palestine signs and a cushion or camping chair to sit on.  If you have the Readers and Writers Against Genocide T-shirt please wear!

  2. Open Letter in Solidarity with Ren Wyld 
    First Nations story tellers have written an Open Letter to the State Library of Queensland and the Queensland Education and Arts Minister in solidarity with Ren Wyld, who had her Fellowship and prize money rescinded. 

    Invitation to First Nations storytellers and non First Nations allies to add their signature via the Overland website.
  3. Emergency Appeal APHEDA – Stand with the Palestinian People in Gaza and Lebanon. Take Action to provide access to water, food, hygiene kits and humanitarian aid to people in Gaza and Lebanon. Donate.
