Puccini, 100 years on

From the humming chorus of Madam Butterfly to the passion of Nessun Dorma, this was a great concert with some surprises. Not the least of which was Colombian marine biologist, Carlos Barcenas, singing Nessun Dorma – no one sleeps. There was some deft footwork by trim two metre tall Columbian giant utilising the full extent of the proscenium arch stage at Hamilton Town Hall on Racecourse Road where old money still resides.

Many thanks to the organisers Claire and Paul, the singers of Bel Canto, Voxalis and the piano player, Toki Onoda. A toast of prosecco to 100 years of Puccini, notwithstanding the abstemiousness of the LNP City Council for refusing alcohol to be served at the event.
