Sumud flotilla intercepted but not stopping – May Day, May Day! Here is a report from one of those boats … for obvious reasons their names have been suppressed.
“My boat is still going, the sun is starting to rise, and we’re almost in Greek territorial waters. it appears we are in the clear. Our comrades were all on boats that are intercepted, and we haven’t heard from them (some have since been released).
We were 80 nautical miles from Greece when the interception started, our fleet was spread out. Some of the fleet are not in the clear yet, and will not be for a few hours.
22 boats confirmed intercepted now. The only two “Australians” still sailing are A M from Jews Against the Occupation 48 and Loud Jew Collective in Naarm and I on . We don’t know what has or is happening to the other 5 of our comrades. We may not sail further, depending on the condition of our engine, after running it so long and pretty hard.
I’m currently on xxxx still in Greek territorial waters, our boat has gone to do search and rescue and needed space for more people in case they found any boats that couldn’t be towed, we’re all a bit sleep deprived and restless at the same time, worried about our comrades who have been taken by the IOF, and thinking about what to do next. We will see, and I’ll try to keep you updated.
Also both of our motherships and our backup, that carry out repairs, navigation, fleet coordination and logistics were intercepted.
