On 21 November 2019, Netanyahu was officially indicted by the Israeli Supreme Court for breach of trust, accepting bribes, and fraud, leading him to legally relinquish his ministry portfolios other than prime minister.
For the past year, the conventional wisdom in western media is that Netanyahu has been pushing for extending the war on Palestinians to avoid these charges that would result in him going to jail. Yet, by carrying on campaign of extermination and genocide of the Palestinians, Netanyahu is more popular in Israel than he ever has been. Does being Prime Minister stop an Israeli going to jail?
Netanyahu: pretend the law exists
Well, I suppose it does because Netanyahu has immunity from prosecution for war crimes in Palestine. It’s not just the United States that gives him that immunity, it’s France, it’s Australia, it’s all of Israel’s allies After all, Israel has sold them arms, all around the world.
Same for Trump? Does being US President stop Trump from going to jail? Anyway, that is what we are told.
Mass murderers and racists are on the loose, in power, everywhere. United States and France say Netanyahu is immune.
The men who killed the news
Senator Fatima Payman calls out Pauline Hanson for being what she is. So the speaker kicked Lydia Thorpe out of parliament for supporting Senator Payman. Two women who have the most to lose from racism, one because she’s a blackfella and the other one because she’s a muslim refugee from the American war in Afghanistan. And this how the men that killed the news reports the story:
Political crime, back in time
Far from the halls of power, down at my local Magistrates Court, I ask for particulars of the offences I am supposed to have committed on this year’s May Day.
I have been asking the same question for the past three (3) weeks. Firstly, when I was arrested, secondly, when I went to the Police prosecutions division, thirdly when I went back there, and now in the magistrates court “before the beak” and later in the police prosecutions rooms in Roma Street Magistrates court. I have been asking what action I am supposed to have done when a friend was assaulted by police, knocked to the ground, and dragged away. How does that constitute me assaulting police? Police attempted to knock me down as well, and even though it was like walking on pillows, I managed to stay on my feet thanks to Uncle Ernie’s fishing rod that I had fashioned into a Palestinian flag pole.
This was 7 months ago on May Day when police assaulted my friend and attacked me. It took them 7 months to arrest me even though I see them every fortnight at Justice for Palestine rallies to stop the genocide.
See if you can spot the assaults on May Day?
Police know when to lie
I tried to give the police prosecutor a written request for better particulars so I can find out what action I made on May Day that constitutes an assault.
He refused to take the piece of paper. His clerk witnessed him doing this.
The magistrate was no better.
Request for directions,
Magistrate in Court No 1
9.45am 28 November 2024
After waiting for the entire court to be cleared on other matters, first up were the people with senior lawyers, then people with lesser solicitors, my was away in another court before Magistrate O’Neill in George Street. I wish I was over there. Anyhow the police prosecutor called our CURR! Ian Curr! I took a deep breath and walked to the bar table.
“Your honour, to enable me to take advice from my solicitors on how to plead to the 2 charges of assault police in the execution of their duty on 6 May at about 12 noon at Bowen Hills, I ask for an adjournment and directions that the prosecution provide me with copies of the following documents before the next court date.
The magistrate cuts me off. As does the police prosecutor.
Your honour all I want is particulars of my actions that constitute the alleged assaults as this is not clear from the copy of the QP 9, which has been provided to me.
Magistrate cuts me off again.
This is what I was going to say: I need the Body Worn Camera footage taken by police officers showing the alleged assaults including periods of 3 minutes before and after those alleged assaults.
So he cut me off before I could finish and adjourned the matter till 18 December 2024, 8 months after the alleged assault. I needn’t have woken up at 2am in the morning and carefully prepared my submission. By having me appear in court, the case was not advanced in any way. I can only conclude that this court is the one where you are pressured into pleading guilty, because of work commitments, family duties, or just because you won’t to get it all over and done with. However, outside the court, a man also waiting to have his matter heard told me: “No don’t plead guilty, you’re an old man, you found it difficult to stand on your feet, the ground was like walking on pillows and you tried to grab hold of something.“
That’s pretty much what happened.
The matter has been adjourned to the 18th of December 9am in court 20, where I am told there will be a bucket load of people waiting for their matters to be heard. It is very unlikely that mine will be heard until well into next year. Perhaps I will find out then what the police case is? Or not.

Back Story
On May Day 2024, Justice for Palestine Magandjin conducted a peaceful protest by turning our backs on the Premier as he gave the keynote address by invitation from the Queensland Council of Unions. We carried the Workers of all countries Unite banner to the stage and placed it on the ground. We had plenty of Palestinian flags from the march. Police came into the front of the stage and stood on our banners including the Workers of all countries Unite banner that we had carried in the May Day march since 1985.
The people around the stage were not ‘protesters’ as claimed by QCU officials and police. We are union members wearing our union T-shirts – Together Union, NTEU, ASU, QTU, ETU, etc. I saw only one megaphone which was held by a brave Australian-Lebanese woman showing disgust at ALP support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
We picked up our Palestinian flags and turned our backs on Premier Miles as he was speaking. This is because of state government’s complicity by providing weapons to Israel and its partners. The United States and Germany have created an airbridge supplying weapons and munitions to slaughter Palestinians. JFP members were silent throughout his speech and the speeches that followed. A few people yelled out during the 15 minute speech by the Premier: “Labor Party you can’t hide, you’re supporting genocide“, “you have blood on your hands“, “We are the working class, right here, we are the workers.”
If anyone was in any doubt about the former Premier Steven Miles support for the genocide in Gaza, read about his support for weapons companies in Queensland actively participating in the slaughter of Palestinians, Lebanese and people’s resistance across the region.
