Elitist politics of genocide

The lie that Hamas is operating from hospitals in Gaza is still being put about to justify the murderous attacks by Israel targeting hospitals, patients, and health professionals. This is despite evidence to the contrary by doctors who are serving in those hospitals in Gaza, by graphic videos put on Tik Tok by IDF occupation forces, and admissions by Ministers in the Israeli government calling for the extermination of Palestinians [See ‘The single worst thing I’ve seen’: Top Oxford surgeon recounts horrors of Gaza hospital‘].

We need to call out the language of compromise put out by the elites, using words from the Israeli occupier. A leading US medical professor made the outrageous claim that the British Medical Journal is ‘an agent of Hamas‘. This was in response to the understandable BMJ concerns that Israeli forces are deliberately targeting a hospital in Gaza to “increase morbidity and mortality” [See British Medical Journal ‘played along with Hamas’, claims leading US doctor].

Also the Australian Greens should know better than to kowtow to the elites by issuing demands like this: “Hamas [must] release all hostages who were taken on October 7th, unconditionally. The planners and perpetrators of the October 7 attack [are] to be brought to justice in accordance with international law …” – Greens policy statement March 2024. What about the thousands of Palestinians detainees held and tortured in Gaza and the West Bank?

Without knowing what happened on 7 October 2023, the Australian Greens still posts on its website this unverified statement: “One month after the terrorist acts by Hamas into Israel, the Australian Greens mourn the over 1400 innocent Israelis who lost their lives. There is no excuse, no justification and no celebration that can be found in attacks that deliberately targeted and sought to traumatise civilian communities. This was not an act of resistance, nor a legitimate military offensive. This was a terrorist act and we will continue to condemn it as such.” [See Australian Greens statement one month after the terrorist acts by Hamas into Israel].

The purpose of the military raid of the Palestinian resistance was to take hostages to end the occupation of Gaza and the slaughter of Palestinians, war crimes ignored by the International criminal court (ICC) for years, (eg in 2009).

Voting changes nothing in Australia. In last week’s local government elections, the Greens supported Palestine and won nearly a quarter of the vote but could win only two (2) wards in the Brisbane City Council. The Liberal National party (LNP), now hold 20 out of the 27 wards despite winning less than half the total vote. Somehow, the political establishment always finds a way to favour the occupation. (e.g. to call genocide  and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians ‘plausible genocide’ is legal nonsense.)

Listen to Ramzy Baroud, speaking about the contradiction of the Western elites calling out the invasion of Rafa while Israel is slaughtering Palestinians all over Gaza, at al Shifa hospital, in Khan Younis, in Gaza City, in the refugee camps, at the aid stations providing food relief …

@ramzybaroudofficial Biden does not want Israel to invade Rafah before having a plan to evacuate the civilians. Others are against the invasion period. But in the meantime, thousands are being killed and wounded in other parts of Gaza, without much protest from Washington and its allies. What is the story here? #gazagenocide #gazaunderattack❤️🇵🇸 #rafahinvasion #palestine #joebiden #unitedstates #middleeast ♬ The Champion – Lux-Inspira

Cameron Leckie in his own words
I am proud to have served in the Australian Army. However, as I matured, read more widely and observed events occurring around the world, I gradually came to the conclusion that the primary mission of the Australian Army, and the Australian Defence Force more generally, was no longer to defend Australia and its national interests, but rather to support the imperialism of the United States of America.

I believe this is inimical to Australia’s national interests, our sovereignty, democracy, security and future prosperity. This realisation was a significant factor in my decision to resign from the Army.”
