The United States has been trying to drag people into its military adventures for over 60 years. They’re adding young Iranians and others in the West to their list, claiming that the government of Iran is a repressive dictatorship. CIA funded demonstrations have popped up all over the world.
During my lifetime, the US has invaded Cuba, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and now Iran . This is a military dictatorship with two right wings. They have engineered military coups in many countries, including Chile and Iran.
This year’s annual peace rally is going to be large because imperialism has become mainstream in the Western world. The object of the United States and Israel’s war against Iran is regime change, which means they wish to have an American puppet running Iran. And it’s not the first time they overthrew democratically elected Mohammad Mossadegh in 1953 and put in the brutal Shah of Iran, father and then son, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. That was down to Winston Churchill and the CIA.
Mohammad Mossadegh’s crime was that he nationalised Iranian oil. His overthrow by the CIA was a precursor to the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
For the past 40 years, the United States has been trying to counter that popular revolution arming Israelis to the hilt. Each time they have failed, they escalate the level of violence and murder killing school children, mums, and dads. This must stop.
The Palestinian movement has defeated half the US regime, and now our task is to finish the other half.

Against international law naval conventions and humanitarian principles a United States submarine openly murdered 87 sailors on a Iranian frigate, the IRIS Dena, in international waters off the coast of Sri Lanka. The frigate had no live ammunition on board under rules of international naval exercises. US military experts knew that.
And don’t forget that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited the Iranian frigate to participate in those naval exercises and welcomed them in parades on Indian soil.
The same Prime Minister who visited Tel Aviv a couple of weeks ago to encourage the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem by Settlers.
And the three Australian naval officers on board the deadly US submarine claimed to know nothing of the attack saying that they were only observers. Liars.
They took part in the slaughter of fellow naval sailors and are complicit in this murderous war.
Those poor Iranian sailors were sitting ducks.
Broader consequences
US Congress has the power to declare war. The US congress is complicit in the events that followed because they did not stop the United States going to war against Iran.
The same Congress that gave Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu are standing ovation is now guilty of war crimes that include:
The genocide in Gaza
The human catastrophe in Lebanon.
The deaths of school girls in Iran the broadening of the conflict to countries that have United States military bases.
The United States and its institutions have lost all credibility in the world. The US must be stopped.
