In the lead up to Invasion Day 2026 there have already been a number of events that have caused concern to ordinary people around the world. The genocide in Gaza continues with Israel starving Palestinians while settlers attack their homes in the West Bank. The year had scarcely begun when the United States invaded Venezuela taking President Maduro hostage with his wife Celia Flores and murdering scores of people. For some time both Israel and the United States have been planning yet another bombing campaign against Iran to bring about regime change as they did in Iraq in 2003.
So in this podcast we show our solidarity with first nations everywhere, here in Magandjin, in Palestine, and to the people of Venezuela, Greenland, and Iran.
On 16 January 2026, the Australia Venezuela Solidarity Network organised a rally against imperialism in King George Square in Brisbane. About 70 people attended the rally to show solidarity and to hear what the resistance had to say.
