A campaign has been launched to get Brisbane Mayor Adrian Schrinner – despite being a Zionist genocide apologist who has fostered official City ties to Israeli weapons and tech companies – to respond to a demand to light the Story Bridge up in the colour of Palestine in solidarity with the community who are grieving the genocide.
“There are people here today, journalists, medics, people of conscience from all sectors of life that are demanding that this country stands on the right side of history, today.”
Asked what to say to journalists in Australia who continue to platform pro-genocide voices, Naji asked back, “Why did you choose to become a journalist in the first place? To tell the truth? Or to stand by those perpetrating state violence?”
“This is a question every journalist needs to grapple with. Because with the ABC, the ABC is still platforming Israeli spokespeople, taking the headlines out of the lips of Israeli officials, when Palestinians are not even afforded any right in Palestine. .. Journalists are not allowed to enter into gaza and report independently. Until there is a safe and independent passage of journalists into Gaza to report on the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza, there should be no Israeli official on Mainstream media at all.”

A powerful turnout in Magandjin/ Brisbane today to hold the compromised ABC to account for centring pro-genocide voices, erasing almost 270 Palestinian Journalists murdered by Israel, and refusing to still do basic ethical journalism in questioning the shameless propaganda that Zionists force-feed ABC journalists to regurgitate.
Attendees wore mock press vests to give remembrance to each of the almost 270 journalists murdered by Israel since they started the Genocide.
