This week, the Freedom Flotilla filled with aid and headed for Gaza, was boarded by the IOF in international waters. The Pro-Palestinian crew was subsequently abducted, ending the volunteer mission before they could deliver life-saving supplies to the people inside the siege.

Israel is ramping up attacks in the West Bank and continuing to bomb and starve children in Gaza, and Australia remains complicit in sending weapons components and shielding Israel diplomatically. Wear red this Sunday, 1pm KGS and join the nationally co-ordinated ‘Draw a Red Line on Genocide’ protests happening around the country.
The Magan-djin Weekend Palestine Conference saw comrades fly in from all over the country to come together to organise for a free Palestine. A huge shout out to everyone who participated and made the conference special. We heard from guests addressing all aspects of Palestinian liberation, anti-colonial struggles, history, protest, direct action, art and much more. We hope to upload recordings from all the incredible guests and speakers running workshops and panels. The very same weekend, staff members at the Wickham walked off the job in solidarity with Palestine due to the venues’ controversial hosting of the Zionist Council of Queensland. We stand in solidarity with all workers taking a stand against genocide and thank Magandjin People’s Pride for calling a snap protest outside the venue.
A fight for a free Palestine is ongoing, only a few weeks ago a local First Nations writer had their literary fellowship worth $15,000 stripped by the Queensland Government due to their support for the anti-colonial struggle in Palestine. This ongoing censorship reminds us how engrained the Zionist lobbies are in our all levels of government in Queensland.
We stand in solidarity with the people of Yuendumu, after another Aboriginal person’s life has been stolen in custody due to the inherent violence of the police. We acknowledge the intersection of our struggles, and encourage supporters to show solidarity where they can.

In Solidarity,
We acknowledge that we meet on the stolen lands of the Yuggera and Turrbal peoples, whose sovereignty over this land was never ceded, and who have led the fight against colonialism for over 250 years.
Justice for Palestine Magan-djin was formed in January 2009 to organise the demonstrations against the Israeli massacre in Gaza. It is a broad coalition of organisations and individuals in Magan-djin (Brisbane) who support freedom for Palestine. We are supporters of the international Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions campaign against apartheid Israel (www.bdsmovement.net)
