Australia supplies weapons for genocide

While lying that they do not supply Israel with means to commit war crimes, Albanese, Richard Marles and Penny Wong allow exports to Israel of parts and components for weapons and equipment that are being used in the genocide in Gaza. In 2021 Brisbane company Microair Avionics manufactured transponder, T2000 UAVL, which turned up in a downed drone in the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.  At the time Israel was reportedly the second largest supplier of weaponry to Azerbaijan, indicating the Australian company may have exported its drone transponders to Israel.

The company Microair Avionics refused to disclose the identity of the original buyer of the transponder identified in Azerjaijan. However, the Microair Avionics website previously listed Israeli company Rafael Advanced Defence Systems as “one of the company’s military industry ‘partners’, of which it has many”.

Declassified Australia has revealed that Australia approved thousands of exports to Israel between October 2023 and March 2025, including military-related items. The 90-page list raises serious concerns that Australia is breaching its legal obligations under the Genocide Convention, Arms Trade Treaty, and international law by enabling Israel’s occupation and potential genocide in Palestine. Items include drone transponders, vehicle parts, steel plates, aircraft components. As well there have been exports of agricultural supplies linked to the illegal settlements/settlement economies.

The Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) definitionally applies to [lethal] drones, even though it doesn’t mention them by name.
