This election is pivotal.
Impunity continues to be granted to Israel, as Netanyahu oversees the withholding of aid alongside the recommencement of military attacks in Gaza. The violence moves across borders, as we see Palestinian activists in the US, like Mahmoud Khalil, threatened, silenced, arrested and/or faced deportation for their involvement in university encampments for Gaza.

We’ve seen such tactics spread across the academic, media, legal, and artistic spaces here in so-called Australia. We see politicians continue to ignore the roots of the violence in Palestine to keep taking a ‘two-sides’ approach, or choosing to style themselves as the Trumpian future of this country. Despite this, we do not give up our fight for justice! We continue to call for a Free Palestine and liberation for all!
This election is an opportunity for us to elect people who will stand with Palestine.
We nee people in Parliament who are willing to stand up for justice for Palestine. We could be a mere 7 weeks away from election day. It is likely the election will called for the 10th of May (however, there is a possibility it could be the 17th of May). This election will impact politics in Australia for years to come.
We need you to help us ensure that pro-Palestinian minor parties and independents can gain the balance of power and hold the two major parties to account.
At JFP, we support all candidates standing for Palestine. However, we believe that Palestine is best represented by a Palestinian. That’s why we continue to put our support behind Remah Naji – a staunch Palestinian woman running for the Moreton Electorate, who is ready to hold politicians to account and advocate for our communities!
On Saturday April 5th, we’re joining Remah Naji’s campaign team and volunteers for The Final Sprint: Day of Action event. Join the JFP BLOCK at The Final Sprint: Day of Action on April 5th by signing up here

We acknowledge that we meet on the stolen lands of the Yuggera and Turrbal peoples, whose sovereignty over this land was never ceded, and who have led the fight against colonialism for over 250 years.
Justice for Palestine Magan-djin was formed in January 2009 to organise the demonstrations against the Israeli massacre in Gaza. It is a broad coalition of organisations and individuals in Brisbane who support freedom for Palestine. We are supporters of the international Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions campaign against apartheid Israel (www.bdsmovement.net)
