We’re really happy to kick off 2025 with Rivermouth, following the enthusiastic reception they received at their last Foco Nuevo performance.
Savouries, cakes, tea, and coffee will be available. Please feel free to BYO food and drinks if you wish.
A reminder that it’s an informal concert in our backyard, and seating is limited; booking is highly recommended. We will reserve tables for group bookings made at least one day in advance. We would appreciate it if you could bring your own chair! We would love to see you at our place.

Rivermouth
Rivermouth combines elements of hip-hop, folk, funk, jazz and spoken word. Our vocalist is a cross between a typewriter and a megaphone.
Our keyboardist is a classically trained virtuoso mad scientist.
Our bassist plays in the Richter scale. And our drummer’s great-grandfather was a metronome.
Rivermouth explores the intersections of poetry and music. We deal in urban mythology, dissident philosophy, and dope beats, sharing stories of a subtropical metropolis peppered with musings on activism, xenophobia and our city’s buried past. Rivermouth’s latest single
Jumping Fences
Jumping Fences’ songs traverse working lives, migration and exile, and everyday hopes and joys. Their long association with Latin American music resonates deeply in their own compositions. They toured internationally to Cuba in 2017 and 2018, and nationally, they have performed at numerous festivals and venues in South-East Queensland and Victoria.
They have composed songs for choirs and conducted workplace songwriting and performance projects in association with the Qld Council of Unions. They have released five recordings, most recently ‘Satellites’.
