Cycling against fascism

Recently the Big Ride for Palestine (Australia) completed its eighth year in support of the resistance in Palestine against a fascist Israeli government. The Big Ride was started in Britain and one of its participants helped set it up here in Australia in 2017.

A similar effort against fascism was made in Spain between 14 and 18 April 1937, coinciding with the anniversary of the Spanish Republic. A cycle race was held between the Aragón front and Barcelona. 50 cyclists, principally Republican soldiers, took part.

A big thank you to all the participants (riders, walkers and donors) in the 2024 big ride for Palestine and for our partner APHEDA (Union Aid Abroad) in their ongoing support for this important initiative that provides much needed funds for humanitarian assistance of the Palestinian people in their Darkest Hour.
