Israeli media reported on Friday that āa senior Israeli security officialā told the families of Israelis being held captive in Gaza that the military will be fighting in Lebanon for another two or three weeks, with the goal āto reach a diplomatic agreement with Hizballah that would allow Israel to secure a hostage deal.ā

Israel is quite capable of using tactical nuclear weapons against the Arab world. Black Rain.

Israel substituting tactics for strategy
“Now the little bit I know about military theory is that wars are won at the levels of strategy and operations but not at the level of tactics. It is a fatal mistake to substitute a tactic for a strategy. Obama’s resort to drones as a substitute for a strategy is the classic instance in the literature.
Israel is now falling into the same mistake. It was unsurpassable at the level of operations because of its intelligence apparatus, access to satellites, its airforce and unlimited supply of bombs from the USA.
Tactically – using assassinations, surveillance , subversion & bribery etc have all been spectacularly successful. But what is the strategic vision? It is in fact so horrible it dare not speak its name. It is nothing less than the elimination of millions of Arabs with a few million “Persians” thrown in for good measure.
You cannot win if you cannot articulate your strategy and that is precisely what Israel is discovering at the moment.
Also significant is that at the level of operations the missile capacity of Iran is a significant threat. Tactically too it seems that the tunnel tactic is proving very difficult for the IDF to counter.
Worst of all is that Israeli supremacy is built on wars of maneuver not on wars of attrition. Israel has survived and prospered on short quick wars. The rhetoric of fighting on seven fronts is moving out of the realm of discourse into hard reality and Israel is finding that a struggle especially as there seems to be an exodus under way from the Promised Land.
So here is my score Card
Strategy – disaster for Israel
Operations – Israel still ahead but Iran’s missile capacity would appear to be a significant threat plus the alliance with Russia may give Iran, if not an edge, then at least counter some of Israel’s traditional operational advantage
Tactically – again Israel still ahead, but significant Israeli weaknesses have emerged at the level of ground operations both in Gaza and in Lebanon.
I think too the pro-Zionist elements in the American Administration are coming under pressure. Where are they leading America? It is true that American firms are making fortunes out of the military aid to Israel. But it is distorting the American economy. People are already beginning to say that “There are bombs for Israel but not a dollar for the Bronx or North Carolina!”
If Trump had not degenerated to such an extent and also not gone the Full Monty on Israel he could have taken Harris easily IMO.”
