Wharfies Club

This is the Waterside Workers Federation club in Adelaide Street. Secondly,  it is not 1976 as originally claimed in the caption, because the meeting rooms on the top floor of the Wharfies Club were being used till long after the 1970s. The WWF had their offices on that floor and were still running the union from there in the mid-1980s. Some of the cracked glass windows may have been the result of a riot at the club in 1978 when anti-communist from South Vietnam stoned the building during a meeting called by Senator George Georges with Union officials from the Communist Vietnam.
