In November 2022, 14 people, compelled by sheer frustration and desperation, interrupted Qld Parliament for 3 minutes during Question Time. Banners were hung over the rails above the chamber and the group loudly demanded that the government STOP NEW COAL & GAS.

On October 23, 14 people will face court charged with the 2022 offence that potentially carries a penalty of up to 3 years in prison.
Since then, almost every fortnight, climate protectors have been outside 1 William St continuing the message.
The Earth is heating up and tipping points are being reached faster and earlier than anticipated (Search: Climate Dominoes-Tipping Point Risks for Critical Climate Systems by David Spratt & Ian Dunlop).
We all witness the incredible government hypocrisy as they continue to subsidize and expand climate-wrecking fossil fuel projects, claiming Australia is a global leader on action on climate, while busy rubber stamping 50 more years of coal.” (Dr Jennifer Rayner, Climate Council).
We are extending an open invitation to anyone who feels frustrated and appalled by Qld’s continuing expansion of fossil fuels.

Meet at 7:45 am for one hour only, outside 1 William St.
Come along, hold a banner, hand out a leaflet, talk to people….
