Our wonderful band of participants have collectively travelled more than 14,886 km over the past 49 days, the distance between Canberra and Havana. Fifty-six people, cycling, running, walking, swimming and even gliding!
In the course of our travels we have talked to people about the United States’ blockade of Cuba which is now more than 60 years old, the cruel impact it has on the people of Cuba and the almost universal demand from around the world that it be lifted.
Our participants have also been sponsored by a generous group of donors, with the funds raised being used for vital medical supplies for the Cuban people. To all those who have donated, a very big thank you.
Now we are in the final week of the campaign, with a victory lap – travelling the distance between Havana and Santiago de Cuba! And who knows, we may even reach Baracoa!!
