Last week rolling actions shut down the Port Of Newcastle (world’s largest coal port), Port of Brisbane and Port of Melbourne (largest port in Australia). A number of people have been locked up pending bail applications. Some need a bail address to be released from prison. These actions have been met with serious repression although it is not expected that custodial sentences will eventuate as happened last year. However the South Australia government has passed laws which could give rise to jail time, certainly large fines may be imposed.
