Global solidarity for Palestine

From the red line banner that thousands held around the White House in Washington to the millions that marched in Sana, the capital of Yemen, Palestine solidarity is now a global phenomenon. This is due to the tenacity and courage of the much maligned Palestinian resistance , which is being attacked in Western media by our so called leaders who have participated in the genocide by authorizing arm sales to Israel.

We will not forget their duplicity. They hide behind words like ‘Hamas’, ‘hostages’, ‘terrorist’, ‘anti-semitism’ and even the word ‘peace’. Jewish leaders, like Bernie Sanders, has called out Zionists for using the word anti-semitism to excuse the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza. He says it is not anti-semitism to call out Israel for war crimes. In another eight months of the genocide , I am yet to hear an anti-semitic remark at mass demonstrations in Brisbane Magan-djin. Rather, I hear calls for human rights. Hamas has rarely been mentioned. For the most part, we hear about the resistance of the palestinian people themselves.

There can be no peace without justice. This means that Israel cannot excuse the bombing massacre of an UNWRA school at Nuseirat by saying that the IDF rescued 4 hostages. No one who actively participated in the occupation near Gaza can claim innocence. Those people are prisoners of an asymmetric war against Palestinians by the apartheid state of Israel. International humanitarian law has not prevented fifty thousand palestinian murdered in Gaza by the IDF.

On the 15th of June, over 8 months into the genocide in Gaza and the West Bank, the people of Brisbane will gather in Queens Park to participate in the solidarity movement. There will be speakers from Chile, Ireland, Kashmir, Sudan and an indigenous speaker. Please note the change of venue.
