Stop Adani Fundraiser Deep Ecology Workshop

March 2nd and 3rdKupidabin Indigenous Education Centre, Mount SamfordFacebook eventAre you an environmentalist who really feels passionately about the changes we need to make?Would you benefit from attending an event with likeminded people who feel and understand your love, pain and deep concern for the living earth and her inhabitants? An open-minded circle that gives you space to share your passions and come into connection with your ecological identity? The South East Queensland Deep Ecology Weekend Workshop coming up in early March may be for you!SEQ Deep Ecology Weekend Workshop When: Saturday 2nd March (8:30am arrival for a 9am start) – Sunday 3rd March 4pm 2019Where: Kupidabin Wilderness Center, 7 Lyell Court, Mount Samson, QLD 4520.Accommodation: BYO Tent. Alternatively mattresses available at venue (BYO pillow and sleeping bag). This workshop is guided by deep ecology perspectives that recognize that we live in an era characterised by the threat of extreme environmental problems. These problems are so big that they threaten the fabric of life on earth which causes us to feel great emotional despair and frustration. Yet we live in a culture where there is a profound denial of feeling and this affects our energy and effectiveness to turn this emotion into energy that makes change happen. To sustain our own work to keep reaching out to other people in the community with compassion, we need to draw on our feelings as a source of energy, not fight them. These processes will help those on the ongoing journey from despair to deepened empowerment. Suggested donation: $80 students and unwaged, $150 waged. All profits will be donated to the Stop Adani Campaign, Frontline Action on Coal and the Wangan and Jagalingou Family Council.  Please have cash to pay at the event. If payment is not possible for you we are open to other forms of non-monetary energy exchange, please get in touch to discuss this further at deepecologyseq@gmail.com or via facebook. We do not want anyone missing out that wants to be there! All other enquiries can be directed to: deepecologyseq@gmail.com

Act on Climate- Keep Galilee Coal in the Ground!
8.30am-9.30amBrisbane Speakers Corner, George St Square, Brisbane CityFacebook EventJust last week we saw proof of Adani’s ‘attack dog’ strategy to bully NGOs, activists and governments into siding with their climate wrecking coal mine. Adani’s mine and those that would follow will destroy Queensland’s groundwater, give a death sentence to the reef and accelerate dangerous floods, fires and extreme weather. With one bill Queensland Labor could#StopAdani and protect the Galilee Basin for good. The Mineral Resources (Galilee Basin) Amendment Bill 2018 — currently before the Queensland Parliament — would terminate existing mining leases for the Galilee Basin, and prohibit any future leases being granted – including for Adani.
