Trev’s Brisbane Forecast for next 7 Days from 3 Aug – and Windsurfing again!!
Finally got a good windsurf in off Wello Point yesterday. Wind was a consistent south-easterly at 14 to 16 knots, with clear skies and only 2 other sailors out. Sometimes it can get crowded on Moreton Bay, believe it or not. But yesterday I didn’t have to look over my shoulder this time to do my rapid turns (called jibes).
The reason it was a better day for windsurfing was that the winds from the south-east come mostly over the water and this surface is much smoother than the land with houses and trees. So the wind is less turbulent and hence more consistent.
Well this is about to change as the wind is predicted to be a strong, gusty westerly wind Wednesday. This will drop the temperatures from warm days to a cooler range of 9 to 22 degrees Celsius. Most days will be sunny with light winds from Thursday to Saturday. Pity about the COVID lock-down so you will have to make the most of the great weather in your own yard, if you have one.
See ya next week. Trev the Weatherman
