Foco Nuevo in April

foconov-thumb.gifThanks to all of you who made our 5th birthday so special. This month will be a great follow-on with guest artists Nelson Mansilla and Angela Toohey.

Nelson Mansilla is a Latin American guitarist and singer from Chilean Patagonia. With his guitar Nelson tells stories that talk about both South American folklore, and the problematic issues that have historically shaped the current social reality of Latin America. [website]

Angela Toohey Angela Toohey: Nationally renowned for her 20-year career in theatre and musical theatre, singer, songwriter and actor Angela Toohey is now shining the spotlight on her own music, with her debut CD, No Ordinary Girl. Best known for her role as Liza Minelli in Boy from Oz, first playing opposite Todd McKenney in 1998-99 and later opposite Hugh Jackman in 2006, Angela has embraced the power and joy of sharing her songs with those generous enough to listen. Her music is inspiring, uplifting, fun, honest, hooky, energy-packed and edgy. She will be joined by Jodi Murtha on bass and backing vocals and Suzanne Hibbs on percussion. [website]

Jumping Fences: Again at full strength, Jumping Fences will bring their exciting mix of original and Latin American songs with rhythm and style. We’ll have Ross, Robbie, Dan and James in the line up, and we’re still on a high from last month! [website]

Hope to see you there,

Lachlan and Sue
