Scaremongering is still rampant in the Murdoch Press with regard to the carbon pollution tax.
Why is it that nobody wants to pay for POLLUTION!!!!!!!!!
While I don’t agreed with the way the Fed Govt has introduced this tax, particularly with regard to giving massive compensation to big polluting industries, the reality is that somewhere, sometime you pay for pollution. As well the tax will mostly benefit the GAS industry, a booming arm of the fossil fuel industry who will be laughing all the way to the bank.
The info from the Australia Institute below shows the real extent of this tax relative to other taxes and costs of living. Most of us are compensated. Unfortunately, this just means we probably wont change our behaviour.
