A comical satire on Indian society, politics and the media, produced by award-winning Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan (Lagaan; Ghajini). Natha (Omkar Das Manikpuri) and Budhia (Raghubir Yadav) are two impoverished farmers in the small Indian village of Peepli, who are about to lose their farmland due to outstanding debt. When Natha discovers a government program that aids the families of indebted farmers who have committed suicide, he hatches a plan in a desperate bid to keep a roof over his familys heads. But when a reporter latches onto the story, a media frenzy ignites around Natha and his family, turning him into an overnight celebrity. As the entire country watches on, speculation mounts and the question on everyone’s lips “Will he or Won’t he?”
