Justice for Palestine News & Events

April 2026

The 30th of March marked 50 years of Land Day for Palestinians, a day where millions launched a general strike in resistance to escalating land seizures. Today, Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank continued to commemorate the day in brave defiance of the ongoing apartheid regime. Aid is still being blocked from entering Gaza. Palestinians in the West Bank are facing increasingly violent attacks from settlers. The invasion of Lebanon continues to expand. US and Israeli missiles continue to bring death and destruction to the people of Iran.

Meanwhile the Australian government continues to slavishly support US and Israeli imperialism with words and deeds, deploying a ‘surveillance’ plane to the Gulf. They also continue to target our movement, federally and in Queensland, arresting those who recite slogans that call for peace, liberation and justice while they openly support genocide, terror and war.
A system that produces such horror also produces resistance. Despite the repression, Justice for Palestine will continue organising to end the genocide and to demand freedom and justice for the Palestinian people.
But we need you to stand with us to make our upcoming events as large and impactful as possible. Together, our movement can overcome these laws and continue fighting against all the horrors unleashed by the genocidal regime and for a liberated Palestine.

Free Palestine!

Six months ago, fifty thousand Queenslanders marched in Brisbane all chanting the words now deemed ‘illegal’ by the Crisafulli government. Crisafulli said he answers to Queenslanders. He doesn’t. He silences us and he locks us up. He answers to a foreign government committing genocide and the lobby that protects it.
This is not our law. The weapons sent to Israel straight out of our Brisbane factories, to be used for war crimes, are not done so in our name. We won’t allow genocide, ethnic cleansing, occupation and apartheid to go unchallenged. We will always stand with Palestinians for a Free Palestine.

RECENT EVENTS
A weekend of our community gathering to upskill and join in at the Palm Sunday rally.
On Sunday the 29th March, thousands marched across the country for Palestine and an end to war. We saw hundreds come out in Magandjin (Brisbane) to mark the yearly Palm Sunday Rally for Peace and Justice. Freedom for Palestine, Lebanon, Iran & Sudan. No more US/Israeli Wars!
On Monday, another great turn out at the Wage Peace picket outside Ferra engineering in Tigalpa. We will not be complicit in the weapons supply chain!
Finally, we thank all those in our community who joined us for the upskill day where we worked together to ensure that our movement can continue to grow and stand together despite attacks to silence us from calling for a free Palestine!
How to get more involved
We are continuing our BDS actions, public meetings, rallies and actions to hold our politicians to account. If you are interested in getting involved in Magan-djin (Brisbane) actions please contact us (the best way is through our Facebook Page).
If you are interested in the BDS movement in Australia, head to the BDS Australia website. And if you are looking for more ways to show solidarity with people in Gaza and throughout Palestine, APAN (Australia Palestine Advocacy Network) have put out a great list of actions you can take with ways to get involved nationally.
