“My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!” Nothing beside remains. Round the decay. Of that colossal wreck, boundless …” – Shelley
The President of the United States just threatened to blow up Iran’s nuclear power stations. He gave the Iranian leadership 48 hours to open the Straits of Hormuz, and if they do not agree, he will begin by blowing up Teheran’s nuclear power station, followed by the remaining nuclear electricity generators .
“If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN… the United States… will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS…” – Trump.
This would cast Iran into darkness, the region into nuclear winter, and a world without energy
This is what the anti nuclear movement warned over 50 years ago. The risk in bombing nuclear power stations is a core meltdown—where radioactive fuel overheats and melts. This has happened during the Chernobyl and the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disasters.
Workers in the electrity industry and and across the world must oppose this terrible threat by the United States on an innocent peoples, Persian, Arab, Kurd …. all the people of the world.
How is it that in the ‘home of the brave and the free’ a deranged President can threaten to crack down on critics of foreign policy. yet in a ‘totalitarian society’, a Palestinian leader, Ismail Haniya, can be assassinated in Tehran?
