Growing food for refugees

On Sunday 50 people came together to plant our new garden in Kangaroo Point. In just under an hour all the beds were planted, fertilised, watered and mulched.

We are growing nutritious food to give to refugees who are living in community detention.

This means they can’t travel interstate, they can’t work, they must attend regular appointments, they don’t have the right to protest and are heavily surveilled.

In this state of limbo refugees in community detention are often left unsupported. As a small act of solidarity and support we’ve set up a community garden to provide food and send a clear message that Refugees are WELCOME here.

If you live near Kangaroo Point and wanna help out with watering the new garden please privately message us … Growing Forward + Refugee Solidarity
