This is a crucial time in the campaign to #StopAdani, so we have organised a coach from Byron to the frontlines camp – and we NEED YOU!
It has been a crazy time of year but there is only one week left to book and pay for this cheap passage to the blockade. We urgently need to fill this coach by 7th Jan or we can’t go ahead with the booking.
WHAT? Nine days at the community blockade camp to protect the Galilee and stop the Adani mine. During your stay, you can expect to be fully immersed in ‘camp life’. Planning and participating in non-violent direct action (there are regular trainings if you’re new to it) and getting stuck into the daily running of camp. It takes all sorts of skills, and there really is something for everyone.
WHEN? Sunday the 19th January – Thursday 30th January (Find more details on dates, times and stops below.)
WHERE? Arrive at Camp Binbee on Birri Country (between Bowen and Collinsville). The footprint of the proposed Adani mine, rail and existing port is huge – over 300 km long. So expect to be doing some extra travelling while you’re up. You will also get to see some of the magnificent country that we are protecting and the beautiful Whitsunday beaches, heart of the Great Barrier Reef.
EXTRA INFO: Ticket price is $260pp return. This covers the bus fares only. Whilst at the blockade, you will be camping, so you will need to bring a tent, sleeping mat and bedding. Camp Binbee has plenty of flat camping areas and amenities; there is a communal kitchen and eating area.
Whilst camping is free, we ask for a daily camp contribution of $15pp (unwaged) $25pp (waged) per day which covers your food, tea and coffee, as well as some other overheads. All dietary requirements are catered for but you are welcome to bring your own specialty items.
More information on the trip will be provided once you register for the trip.
