El Necio by Silvio Rodriguez

“They say that they will drag me across rocks
when the Revolution collapses,
that they will crush my hands and my mouth,
that they will tear out my eyes and my tongue.
I was born with idiocy,
the idiocy from today’s stupidity:
the idiocy of becoming an enemy,
the idiocy of living without having a price.”
