Baby Ferouz – high court decision today

A judge is set to rule on whether a baby boy born in Australia to asylum seeker parents is allowed to apply for refugee status.

The case of baby Ferouz will have wide-ranging implications for about 100 other babies born in detention.

At 3.30pm today decision likely to be handed down.

    A Brisbane-born baby and his asylum-seeking family will be moved to Darwin tomorrow, despite lodging an application with the High Court to keep the family in detention in Brisbane.

    The High Court rejected the application late this afternoon.
