Foco Nuevo in June

Thanks to all our guests and audience for making our Pete Seeger tribute such a wonderful night. For June we are very happy to welcome two new guest acts, Penny Davies & Rober Ilott and Orange And Silver.

Penny Davies & Roger Ilott:Best known for their career-defining songs such as Hey Rain!, and Where the Cane Fires Burn, the highly-acclaimed duo have been performing, recording and writing songs together since 1983, and in that time have released 20 albums of exceptionally high quality Australian contemporary folk music.

‘Carefully crafted lyrics, narrative impetus, and beautiful close harmonies are strong features of their overall sound.’ (Folk Rag) [website].

Orange And Silver are an original instrumental acoustic duo. They combine an eclectic and varied set of influences to perform a range of genres spanning neo-classical, Spanish / flamenco, Latin, acoustic post-rock, and folk. They have performed at venues around Brisbane and events such as the Festuri Festival on the Sunshine Coast and the Home Festival in Brisbane. [website].

Jumping Fences: The song-writing partnership of Lachlan Hurse and Sue Monk, will be playing their energetic folk, tinged with Cuban flavours. Their original works contain imagery and styles that reveal both an incisive insight into Australian life and a long association with Latin American culture [website].

Hope to see you next Friday,

Lachlan and Sue
