CD out now – April 21 Brisbane Launch reminder

The new CD Ghosts of Deir Yassin is now available for purchase and download online at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/philmonsour4 and also from the website http://www.philmonsour.com/shop.html The launch in Brisbane is shaping up to be a great night and will be held at Souths Leagues Club on the 21st of April 7.30pm. Special guests on the night include Mardi Lumsden, Ofa Fanaika (ex-Chocolate Strings) and a special reunion show by former Brisbane folk rock stars, Popproperly to close the night. The songs on Ghosts of Deir Yassin were written during a trip to Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon. The songs were inspired by the courage of ordinary people fighting for freedom and justice from Palestine’s refugee camps, to Egypt’s Tahrir square, through to the Occupy squares. Songs include I left my Heart in Palestine http://youtu.be/CygeiVWpBgY about love at a checkpoint, the somber Dark Tunnels against the siege of Gaza, and the title track Ghosts of Deir Yassin, a statement of hope on the Palestinian right of return. A video clip for Ghosts of Dier Yassin, filmed on location in a number of refugee camps in Jordan and Lebanon is completed and will be released on the 28th of April.The album was recorded at Wavelength Recording in Brisbane with the full band which features Jon Lloyd on Drums, Ian Kimber on Bass and Graham Jackson on Guitar. The title track Ghosts of Deir Yassin features Palestinian spoken word artist Rafeef Ziadah. 20% of CD sales are donated to Union Aid Abroad – APHEDA critical projects in the Middle East. Projects in the Middle East include the Gaza Emergency Appeal, Food Security Projects in the OPT and the Palestinian Camps Support Program. http://www.apheda.org.au/projects/mideast/index.html APHEDA is the international development agency of the Australian Council of Trade Unions. I will also be releasing date soon for a UK tour commencing on the 10th of May that you will hopfully share with people in Scotland Ireland and England.
