Khalil’s Send-off

Dear Friends,

In February 2011, Khalil Hamden is going to Palestine.

As part of his trip, he is going to visit a refugee camp in Nablus where his family and many of the people from his village fled in 1948.

Khalil has maintained contact with his extended family since that time and has supported them by working in the West.

He wishes to give financial support to an orphanage in Nablus. It is run by a registered Palestinian NGO.

Time: 7pm on Friday evening  21 Jan 2011.

Place: TLC building (16 Peel Street Sth  Brisbane)

ENTRY: $20 (workers)/$15 (concession)

******************

The evening will involve a dinner consisting of a Middle eastern plate, speech and performance.

We hope to raise  money for a Palestinian orphanage. by charging. Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available.

******************

The aim is for Justice for Palestine (JFP) supporters to form stronger links with the struggle in Palestine.

I hope to give Khalil some JFP BDS videos to show people on the West Bank what we are trying to do here in Brisbane.

Khalil is taking a video camera with him to record his trip and report back to us.

Final preparations will be made at the JFP meeting at 6PM on Thursday 19th January 2011 at Queensland Council of Unions [QCU] building, 2nd floor, 16 Peel Street, South Brisbane. Please come along to the JFP meeting if you think you can help.

Khalil will be at the JFP meeting to explain the purpose of his visit to Palestine.

Pease pass this on to others who may wish to help.

Please RSVP to give us an idea of numbers for catering by emailing iancurr@bigpond.com or by SMS to Ian on 0407 687 016
