We urge you to take advantage of this opportunity to hear visiting Law Professor George Bisharat from the Hastings College of Law, University of California at the free public lecture being held at the University of Melbourne tonight. His visit forms part of our Nakba events for the month of May and for anyone wanting a better understanding of the catastrophic events that took place in 1948, Professor Bisharat will explain how and why these events occurred and why to this day the Palestinian Nakba Catastrophe is still ongoing. Ending it has become the burning issue of our times.
Future Generation Professor Ghassan Hage will introduce Professor Bisharat and will say a few words about the Nakba before showing a 23 minute film about an old mans memory of what happened in 1948. It was professionally made by ethnographic filmmaker Dr Diana Allan from Harvard University.
