  1. Kooii plays at the Joynt says:

this Sat Nov 7 at the Joynt, Kooii is performing. Start 9pm, 2 sets with DJ in between.

For those of you not familiar with Kooii, in brief I’ll say it’s a meld of african, jazz and reggae. I write most of the seeds of the songs but the growth of the sound and engaging nature of the group comes from the musicianship and feel of it’s members.

We’ve been recording a new album and we’ll be performing songs from that. We have a new rhythm guitarist, Conan, who’s joining rolls with the evolving of the sound. We will be without our sax player Darcy unfortunalety, he live’s in Melbourne these days and we can’t always have him join us.

Free entry, though we very much appreciate a donation placed in the bucket at the bar or through buying a ‘I support Live music’ wrist band at the bar.

We’re touring to New Zealand next January with Kingfisha and funds raised from the gig will help us buy airfares. We’re playing at the Parihaka International Peace Festival as well other gigs around New Zealand. We’d appreciate your support.

come if you please. join in the feel of it.
