I stand with Palestine, and against the forces of Zionism. As a Jewish man, there are extra layers I need to peel back to fight against what the state of Israel is doing, but it is because of that history that I feel it is most important for me to do so.
I spoke yesterday at the Rally for Peace organised by @justiceforpalestine.meanjin both as a political leader, and as an anti-zionist Jew. There is much work to be done to uncouple Zionism from its association with Judaism, but I cannot support something that has caused so much violence and terror. The majority of zionists are right-wing Christian nationalists, and they are a vile, bigoted, hateful lot. I will never support them, and just as Zionism is not reflective of Judaism, MAGA type Christian nationalists are not reflective of the majority of Christians.
I stand for peace. I stand for justice. I stand for a ceasefire.
