Hughie Hamilton from Building Workers Industrial Union is in the centre of this photo. The tall man to Hughie’s right is Alex McDonald, the secretary (at that time) of the Queensland Trades and Labour Council. The woman on their right is the President of the Brisbane Housewives Association, Gabby Horan. The two younger men on Hughie’s right, I don’t know. These are all opponents of the war in Vietnam and were called a ‘nest of Communists’ by the Premier of Qld, Frank Nicklin. (circa 1967).
