UN Peacekeepers March in Meanjin

This year marks the 76th anniversary of Australia’s involvement in international peacekeeping missions. Since 1947, our nation has provided personnel and support for over 75 UN peace and security operations in over 65 countries. More than 65,000 Australians have answered the call to these missions.

The United Nations Association of Queensland (UNAAQ), in cooperation with the government, defence, police and civil society, warmly invites you to participate in our special 76th UN Peacekeepers Ceremony and Peoples March.

This event will bring together Australian peacekeepers (past and present), our state and federal government members, international consuls, community groups, and university student societies.

Join us at King George Square at 09:00 AM to march to ANZAC Square at 09:30 AM. The service will commence at 10:00 AM at ANZAC Square, followed by morning tea provided by the Queensland Country Women’s Association.

For all queries, please email Phoenix Potoi (Peace and Security Program Intern) at: unaaqpsprogram@gmail.com

NOTE: If you are part of a community or student group, bring the whole team along to march together! We encourage all groups to wear clothing that represents their group (e.g. cultural wear) and to bring along a banner/flag to march with. Just RSVP your group with Phoenix.

We look forward to seeing you there!
