Australia joined with the US and UK in a coalition to wage war on Iraq 17 years ago. Today we are on the cusp of repeating that huge historical mistake by Scott Morrison’s unquestioning support of US military objectives. The assassination of Qasem Soleimani has led to a crisis in the region with the threat of war with Iran, a country of 80 million people.

The Independent and Peaceful Australia network representing unions and community organisations across Australia has called for a national day of protest on Saturday January 25th to declare that we do not want to repeat the mistakes of Iraq.
