1) SOLIDARITY WITH G20 ARRESTEES – RALLY TO DEFEND CIVIL LIBERTIES IN QLD
8:30am Thursday 4th December
Magistrates Court, 240 Roma StAnthony, a defendant charged with possession of a prohibited item without a lawful excuse, Ciaron O Rielly, and others arrested on G20-related charges, will appear at the Roma St Magistrates Court this Thursday morning.
On 13 November Ross Barnett, Deputy Commissioner of Police, stated the QPS recognised that the wearing of face masks may be a means of political expression, and intention to wear a face mask at a rally was a “lawful excuse” under the G20 (Safety and Security) Act.
Barnett stated however that people who wear face masks can expect to be stopped and spoken to by police over the G20 weekend. He added that there was no guarantee that face masks would not be seized, and that this would be a matter of individual police discretion.
Barnett had been forced to acknowledge the legal right to political expression following public comments by former Solicitor General Walter Sofronoff earlier that week. But Barnett went on to say in effect that this would not stop arbitrary police actions.
The rally on 4th December will be calling for an end to Queensland police claiming open ended powers in relation to protest policing and for the defence of civil liberties in Queensland.

Private banks are causing great problems;
1. Interest payments are so huge, the very richest people get control of politics.
2. Most people scrabble to pay interest, gouging the environment, family time and Third World workers.
3. Banks choose to fund housing bubbles and speculation over productive investment and small business. This is unstable!
4. Governments are indebted, captured and unable to protect the environment or workers
Speakers include Liz Elliott, Karen Mutton and Damien Penston from Fair Money
Come along and learn and contribute to understanding what really makes our society make the crazy choices it does….Money as interest demanding credit, created by private banks!
