Day one of the Federal Court hearing into the legality of the Muckaty nomination as the site for a nuclear waste dump has raised serious questions about the Governments RadioActive Waste Management Act and if it allows nominations to be made which do not comply with the Native Title Act.

Paddy Gibson from Jumbunna Indigenous House of Learning says both the Northern Land Council and the Australian Government are arguing that the NLC is able to nominate land without consulting with traditional owners..
