It was in 2004 when the ASRC and the Iraqi and Afghan communities were engaged in the END TPV Campaign that we gathered at the ARTS CENTRE
where Alexander Downer was giving a speech of some sort. These three children and their parents arrived out of the blue with their perfectly made signs
giving us an unforgettable image captured by Peter Cahill.
Today the incoming government will reintroduce the hated TPV’s- Temporary Protection Visas whose cruelest effect is the forced separation of family and denial of reunion.
Strange coming from a Prime Minister who knows only too well the benefits and joy of support from a loving family.
