Radical singer/songwriter David Rovics plays for Justice in Palestine

Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice;
let the sea and what fills it resound;
let the plains be joyful and all that is in them;
Then let all the trees of the forest rejoice before no Lord who comes,
for workers to govern and protect the earth
For a world with justice and for people with hope.
— Adapted from Psalm 96

Radical US Alt. folk singer/songwriter David Rovics  returned to Brisbane for one night only on the last leg of his third  Australian tour.

Witness Rovic’s savage satire here in the song about the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

“Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler” (‘Lets the good times roll’), describes the dislocation of the Cajun community after the spill.

David Rovics sang this song at ‘Justice for Palestine’ concert at the CEPU hall Brisbane on 18 August 2010.

The JFP concert Brisbane was in support of Boycotts Divestments & Sanctions BDS campaign against Israel — a campaign against Israeli government’s miltary dislocation of Palestinians from their houses and villages by bombing, bulldozing and murder .

The concert was a fund raiser for the Boycotts Divestments and Sanctions campaign being waged here in Brisbane by Justice for Palestine.

It is our intention to shut down an Israeli cosmetics firm, Seacrets, that operates out of big department stores like Myers and David Jones in the city and at Chermside and Upper Mt Gravatt.

My reasons are oultined at —

Who is killing the Dead Sea? It’s Seacret!David Rovics

David Rovics has many powerful songs about Palestine.

He was joined in Brisbane by the Phil Monsour Band

(http://www.philmonsour.com/) in acoustic mode.

Thanks to David Rovics (USA) and the Phil Monsour Band.

Thanks to the organisers from the RSP, JFP, and other groups. Thanks to M (she knows who she is) for the brilliant sound
