    Humphrey McQueen is a prominent Australian historian and author of numerous books and other publications, including A New Britannia: An argument concerning the social origins of Australian radicalism and nationalism; Social Sketches of Australia; Aborigines, Race and Racism; Australia’s Media Monopolies; Gallipoli to Petrov, Arguing with Australian History; Japan to the Rescue: Australian Security Around the Indonesian Archipelago during the American Century; Tom Roberts; Suspect History: Manning Clark and the future of Australian History; and The Essence of Capitalism.
    His seminar will draw from his most recent book, Framework of Flesh: Builder’s Labourers Battle for Health and Safety (Ginninderra Press, 2009).

    There will also be a launch of his book the following Wednesday evening, 23 September, at the Avid Reader book shop, 193 Boundary Street, West End, at 6pm for 6.30pm. See Flyer.
