Kim Bullimore, has recently returned from the Occupied Palestinian Territories, where she has lived and worked for over 12 months since early in 2007. Since 2004, Kim has also been a volunteer with the International Women’s Peace Service (IWPS) – which provides international accompaniment to Palestinian civilians and non-violently intervenes to stop illegal human rights abuses against Palestinian civilians. Over the past four years, Kim has written extensively from Palestine for a range of publications and web-journals reporting on the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the Palestinian struggle for human rights, justice and self-determination.

GRIFFITH UNI DOCUMENTARY SCREENING and DISCUSSION

There are now more than 200 settlements and outposts scattered throughout the West Bank blocking the geographic possibility of a contiguous Palestinian territory. The Iron Wall documentary exposes this phenomenon and follows the timeline, size, population of the settlements, and its impact on the peace process. This film also touches on the latest project to make the settlements a permanent fact on the ground – the wall that Israel is building in the West Bank and its impact on the Palestinian people.

The documentary screening will be followed by questions and discussion with Kim Bullimore.

Tues October 7, 12 noon

Northern Theatres (Building N29), Theatre 4, Griffith Uni (Nathan Campus)
