The LNP has been elected on the back of a campaign of lies and attacks on first Nations people. The new LNP government has discarded the truth telling inquiry and their policies will further criminalise children in Queensland. Aboriginal activists are calling a protest on the first sitting day of the new Parliament on the 26th of November 2024 at 9:00 a.m. starting at Queens Gardens in Brisbane.

The LNP lied that there was a youth crime crisis promising adult time for adult crime.
We say stop the racist dog whistling because policies that criminalize youth will have a disproportionate impact on First Nations people. Youth crime is at an almost record low. The solution to youth crime is community and care, not more incarceration, criminalisation, and police.
The LNP lied that the truth telling inquiry is over and told communities engaging in the process to stop. We know that real division is in quality of life in health outcomes, life expectancy, wealth education, and freedom. If the truth is divisive, it’s because it exposes how first Nations people have been oppressed and exploited and that this must be rectified. These attacks are coming at the very beginning of the LNP government.
We have to stand up now and demand better. We have to indicate to this government that we will fight back every time they try to take away our rights and further in trench our opposition.
